DWV Pipe Reducer

DWV Pipe Reducer

DWV Pipe Reducer – Sizes: 50mm to 150mm
The DWV Pipe Reducer is engineered to transition between different pipe diameters within a Drainage, Waste, and Vent (DWV) system. Featuring a stepped design, the larger end fits snugly inside an existing pipe, while the smaller end accepts a pipe fitting. This configuration enables smooth flow and efficient reduction in pipework size.

This fitting differs from Level Invert Tapers (LITs) and socket reducers, each serving distinct functions within plumbing systems. Correct installation of ventilation points is critical when using reducers to ensure unimpeded flow and compliance with drainage best practices.

Key Features:

  • Sizes Available: 50mm to 150mm
  • Connection Type: In-pipe reduction – large end fits into pipe, small end accepts pipe fitting
  • Application Type: Non-pressure DWV systems
  • Material: High-performance PVC-U
  • Colour: Standard pale grey

Applications:

  • Sewerage systems
  • Ventilation pipelines
  • Greywater and blackwater drainage
  • Stormwater flow (with compatible fittings)
  • Kitchen and bathroom waste systems
  • This reducer may also be integrated into stormwater lines using suitable adaptors from the stormwater fitting range.

Installation & System Compatibility:

  • Installed using solvent cement joints (SCJ)
  • Requires a 24-hour setting time for full mechanical strength
  • Suitable for above-ground and underground installations
  • UV-resistant for short-term exposure; long-term exposure should be avoided
  • Designed for use in rigid pipe runs (pipes available in 6m lengths)

PVC-U Advantages:

  • Immune to rust and corrosion
  • Resistant to chemical and biological damage
  • Excellent hydraulic capacity
  • Lightweight and impact-resistant
  • Simple to transport, cut, and install

Performance & Compliance:

  • Operating Temperature: 0°C to 50°C
  • Standards: Compliant with AS/NZS 1260 – PVC-U pipes and fittings for DWV applications
  • Certification: WaterMark approved for regulated plumbing use
